Bastuba is the founder and medical director of Male Fertility & Sexual Medicine Specialists in San Diego, California. He is part of the elite group of 2% of board certified urologists in the U.S. who specialize in treatments and procedures relating to male fertility. He has also completed advanced training in male sexual dysfunction. Dr. Bastuba is the only board certified urologist and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons in San Diego, CA, making him extremely well qualified to offer highly specialized male fertility services.
Dr. Bastuba was born in Detroit, Michigan and grew up with a love for automobiles. He attended undergraduate and medical school in his hometown before completing general urology training at Emory University Affiliated Hospitals in Atlanta, Georgia. He became the first resident physician ever accepted into Boston University School of Medicine's prestigious combined fellowship program for male fertility and sexual dysfunction before bringing this specialized training to Southern California.
Dr. Bastuba has earned numerous academic achievement awards, is board certified by The American Board of Urology and is currently a clinical instructor in urology at the University of California San Diego's School of Medicine. He is a frequent guest lecturer and author, serving as a consulting medical expert for local and national TV, having published and participated in a number of research studies in the area of male fertility.
His professional memberships include the American Urological Association, the American Medical Association, the American Society of Reproductive Medicine and the California Medical Association. He has served as president of both the San Diego Reproductive Endocrine Society and the San Diego Urologic Society. He is actively involved in the non-profit organizations including the Angels Foster Family Network, Fertile Hope and Volunteers of America, San Diego.
